Charity Right's School Meals for the Rohingya

Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh has become host to the Rohingya community; an ethnic group that has faced severe persecution in Myanmar for decades. When the hostility against them worsened, many fled their home country for neighbouring Bangladesh.

We provide 9 schools with daily meals. For Rohingya refugee children, school provides a familiar routine that can help them recover from trauma. Our meals are vital to keeping these schools open.

Daily school meals create well-nourished children like Jannahtun-Naeem, who can focus on their education without worrying where their next meal will come from.

Jannahtun-Naeem - Rohingya child

Jannahtun-Naeem is 10 years old and lives in one of the orphanages that Charity Right supports with regular food in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh

Her parents passed away when she was just 7 years old.

She has a little brother who is five, but their aunty takes care of him.

School gives her the chance to escape the life of poverty that usually awaits young girls who don’t have family support, education, or food.

The reality of the situation is, that there are hundreds that live the same life, that are in the same dire situation.

There are hundreds that need our help.
