Welcome to my fundraising page! Ramadan is here and I want to give to a charity that will make a real and lasting difference. That’s why I’m raising funds to provide food to schoolchildren. I am raising money to sponsor Pothokoli School in Dhaka, Bangladesh to provide school meals for the 72 students who study there in order to help them break the cycle of poverty through education. Children need mental and physical strength whilst they study, but many families in areas of poverty struggle to feed themselves. Millions of young people are not enrolled in school because their first priority needs to be finding food, instead. When Charity Right provide free school meals in an area, those schools report an increase in enrolment rates and attendance. Providing food increases education rates, and those children then have a better chance of working their way out of poverty. £120 supports one child with daily school meals for a year. £240 supports 2 children with daily school meals for a year. £1,200 supports 10 children with daily school meals for a year.
