Volunteer in Greece with Zohra Sarwari

We're inviting you to join us on a life changing volunteering experience with Zohra Sarwari in Lesbos, Greece, this April.

Between 15th and 19th April 2018, we'll be taking a group of volunteers to visit our newest feeding programme for refugees on the Greek island of Lesbos.

You'll get to help prepare and serve food; but most importantly, you’ll get the opportunity to listen to the stories of people who are no longer being heard.

This is your chance to gain a real understanding of the difficulties faced by people who don’t have enough food.

Spaces are limited so book your space as soon as possible.

Background

Since the summer of 2015, Greece has been a gateway to Europe for thousands of Syrians, Iraqis, and Afghans fleeing the war in their homeland. In recent months there has been a surge of new refugees arriving on the Greek Islands.

Moria Reception Centre on the Greek island of Lesbos has a capacity of 1,500 people. But recent estimates suggest it is housing more than 4,000 people because of the delays in the asylum process.

The conditions are bleak and life is so uncertain for the refugees that any support provided is welcomed. The need for such support has intensified and Charity Right is responding. The Charity Right team consists of a group of committed individuals who are working tirelessly to provide refugee families and individuals with support and hot meals.
